Saudi Society of Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery

Welcome to the inaugural meeting of the Saudi Society of Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery (SSCRS); a special milestone that marks the beginning of a new scientific home for Cornea, Cataract and Refractive surgeons in Saudi Arabia and the region.

This year’s meeting takes place at the Grand Hall of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Jeddah, one of the city’s most distinguished and luxurious venues, providing the perfect setting for meaningful knowledge exchange and an unforgettable experience for both speakers and delegates.

Our scientific program is thoughtfully themed around the legacy of ancient Muslim scholars who helped shape knowledge through centuries of scholarship and discovery. Reflecting this heritage, the main Grand Hall is named “Bayt Al-Hikmah,” inspired by the renowned House of Wisdom in Baghdad, while the smaller halls carry the names of celebrated medieval scholars whose contributions helped lay the foundations of modern Ophthalmology and Optometry.

Finally, we will be celebrating a defining moment for our society: the official collaboration between SSCRS and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS)—a partnership we look forward to strengthening through future joint scientific endeavors.
